The humble tape measure is very much undervalued, especially when it comes to covering your floor.

After all how many of us actually have mats like this

Turn your back for 5 minutes and it suddenly becomes fashionable to turn your feet into sandwiches, all thanks to these

Well I suppose it solves the problem of what to do if you get peckish when you're out for a walk.

...or a Magic Giant 12-Surface IQ Pentagon as they seem to prefer to call it.

OMG! That looks a nightmare, I think I'll stick with the cube.

A stretched limo is one of the ultimate status symbols so it seems natural to expand the idea to other forms of transport, which is exactly what Wouter Mijland appears to have done:

A suitable green alternative and all it requires is a few sessions on the rack before you'll be amazing all the passers by as you ride off into the sunset...

So, the internet seems to be currently full of photos of that squirrel.

Not only that, but someone has setup a site (I imagine there's probably more than one site like this out there) to superimpose the squirrel on your images, so now you don't even need to open photoshop to do - The Squirrelizer. (via [livejournal.com profile] cuteoverload)

This left me with little choice, but... to feed the wretched creature to a hobby horse:

Just remembered vegans aren't supposed to be nasty to squirrels... oops!

Something else to add to the list of essential modern kitchen items: racing track cookie cutters.

Except of course, the first thing that sprung to my mind on seeing this was:

If you put a couple of strips of food-grade gold leaf down the middle and electrified it could you make an edible scaletrix track?

Following this tweet, all I can say is

...erm, yes ... this

It's strange what you can find with google.

This is cool, a rubics cube Menger sponge:

Can you imagine trying to solve that!

One the subject of rubics cubes, these are also rather fun:

This a cool idea, instead of hands the numbers change colour (red for hours, blue for minutes, purple when they coincide):

I wonder if I could get my prescription lenses put into a pair of these:

Then again, knowing me, I'd probably get carried away and manage to brick myself in or something...

Saw this whilst out with Thrales on Thursday (it's next door to the Shaston Arms)...

Alcoholic Architecture

I must admit I'm curious, but it appears it's sold out.

This has to be the coolest thing I've seen all day:

So according to @qikipedia on twitter, "In Britain in 1993, three people needed hospital treatment as a result of an accident with a tea-cosy."

Thinking, I'd respond with the quote in the subject line, I had a quick look on google to see who said it (turns out it was Billy Connelly. It does sound like the sort of thing he'd say.), and found this:

Available from Ringtons - £7.95

Would it be excessive to buy myself a third tea-cosy?

This is cool:

Dunk Mug

I want one, but I can't have one apparently because they're not available :-(

More exciting mugs here and there's another one here

Constructive Eating Utensils set (via [livejournal.com profile] uberreview)

I wonder if they do a set for bigger kids with bigger hands?

*also wonders why the autocomplete on the tags comes up with "eating children" as he's sure he's never done that*

The Cup PC

Nice idea, but I suspect they've missed out an obvious feature that should be present in any Cup - the ability to hold tea.

Useful as data may be, I'm not sure it tastes as nice.
