Grrr.....on the two occasions I have seen Rolf Harris, he REFUSED...yes, REFUSED to play Jake the Peg.

Sidmouth 1999, he had 3000 drunk folkies chanting "JAKE.THE.PEG.JAKE.THE.PEG". But no, instead, we were forced to do the dodgy arms movements to "its gonna be a fine day". (I know, I can't remember how it goes either..) We were left thoroughly depressed and it took ALL LNE to gain some sense of perspective.

Finally, I got frustrated. So, last year when I saw him in the green room (or golf room as it is for most of the year) at Eastleigh I went up and asked him very politely if he was going to play it. He then did a nervous giggle.. and walked away!

Why Rolf, WHY!

Argh, how annoying.

Next time you see him, do you think you could ask him what order Jake puts his shoes and socks on?

I always put socks on upstairs, and then shoes on downstairs. SO if I had three feet, I'd do the same thing.

But, how many combinations are there in total? If lmr are the socks, LMR are the Shoes, so l must appear before L, etc, then we have:
lmrLMR
lmrLRM
lmrMLR
lmrMRL ...etc

But is there an easy way to calculate this?

Ben

6!/8?

6! permutations
half of them have L and l wrong way around, etc

Ah yes, symmetry argument. Well done.
