OK, bullying (racist or otherwise) is totally unacceptable, but I really don't understand how it could ever get that far. Surely expulsion should happen long before the child is taken to court?

Date: 2006-04-10 08:30 am (UTC)However, I still don't see why the parents couldn't just be more tolerant and let it be dealt with in a more appropriate manner. It's not as if nothing would have been done about it and taking the child to court isn't going to help matters at all.
It sounds more like a case of getting revenge on the child rather than punishing him, which is just wrong and happens far too often in society!
However, as always who knows the full details of the case, maybe there's something I've overlooked that makes this a perfectly acceptable way of dealing with it. I can't see what that would be though...
