I think it's already started in some places, what with people dumping their pet birds on the door-steps of animal shelters. Pet birds kept indoors in cages, that have no contact with any other birds and therefore are zero risk to anyone. Unfortunately a large proportion of the population is either stupid or easily scared by the ill thought out horror stories the media publishes.

A cull is probably going to be inevitable sadly and I suspect will do little to halt the spread of the virus.

Dude - it's ilegal to eat swan (without a specific licence from the queen), but in this - I shall volenture, just to prove the minimal risk.
