Creative Volume Numbering

Was sorting out/cataloguing the Harpers Archive today and was somewhat amused by the numbering of the volumes:

1, ... 131, 130, 133, ... 140, 139, 142, 141, 144, 144, 143, 145, ... 165

(Yes, that is the correct order, I checked!)

at which point they obviously gave up numbering them as a bad job...

Maybe they were suffering from the after affects of too much product sampling while writing the magazine...
