Following on from that last post, have a poll:

[Poll #1354611]

This seems to remind me of Geography classes at school.

Perhaps next week I'll make another bicycle out of pipecleaners...

At present, I'm out of work! In my last job, it took about 30 minutes; in my next, at least while we're renting a house for the first few months, it will take about 10 minutes.

It's about 3.7 miles.

Two possible commutes: I cycle for 8 minutes to my local station, spend 40 minutes on a slow-ish train, and then cycle for 15 minutes:

or I cycle 15 minutes uphill to the other station, take the fast train for 25 minutes, and then cycle for 15 minutes.

So sometimes it's more cycling than train, but there are more cycle legs involved.

I'm trying to be good and walk every day that I can, but whenever I need the car later in the day for work purposes - which in some weeks is every day - I have to drive, in which case I'm barely five minutes away.

I actually have two routes of about equal speed - bus or train. I'm thinking of adding a third by cycling.

I filled in your poll for my 3 days a week job, the other one the commute takes anything from 15 minutes to 45 minutes (or nearly an hour on one spectacularly bad day a few months ago) and is by car (someone else driving)

I really do like walking though, it helps me decompress at the end of a working day!

Do they keep you in a small box then?

Um, I currently work three jobs during the week.

And they take... 25 minutes, 15 minutes, and five minutes to walk too. So I just kinda averaged it and said 20 minutes. =\

Gosh.. A 90 minute commute? What a drag. :(

I normally get the bus halfway then walk the rest, which takes about an hour; it would take more like 45 minutes if I got the bus as far as I could (still leaving a 10-15 minute walk at the end).

Using work to mean class (and the department in general). I walk, and it takes about 20 min.

well

I didn't reply to the actual poll, because I mostly manage a 50-50 split, so I couldn't decide what to answer.

It takes me between 6-10 minutes to drive to work.
It takes me 35 minutes to walk to work.

I walk when a) I haven't overslept; b) I don't need the car and c) it's not pouring with rain. I walk as often as I can, but because of commitments it's rarely more than 3 times a week and often twice.
