CocoaDirect

I think I've finally come to the conclusion that I shouldn't by CocoaDirect anymore as it just confuses me.

Will still try and buy fairtrade, but not something that features the word Cocoa on the packet in big letters, whilst not actually being cocoa.

Am I the only person who sees it in the cupboard, sees the word cocoa and uses it as cocoa only to remember that it isn't after finishing cooking whatever I've been cooking? OK, the yule log only ended up slightly less chocolatey and slightly more sugary, which wasn't really noticable, but it wasn't what I was aiming to do and it's not the first time I've done it.

Yes you are, everybody else keeps it with the tea.

That's your problem right there then - put the cocoa powder in the baking department!

I did that the first time I bought Cocoa Direct, rather overly sweet chocolate cake as I remember and it took me ages to work out what I'd done! It's a pity they didn't just call it Chocolate Direct or something similar, and saved Cocoa for actual Cocoa!

I think the not buying cocoa-direct is simpler. Just get fairtrade cocoa then if I want hot chocolate I can add my own sugar.

It annoys me intensly. Hot choclate is hot chocolate, cocoa is cocoa, and never the two should should mix.

I find many hot chocolates are too much sugar not enough cocoa, so I generally do mix them to up the cocoa in the ratio a bit, but then it's simpler just to buy the cocoa and the sugar and forget the hot chocolate altogether.

But cocoadirect is useful for when you suddenly find you've run out of cocoa, and you can substitute in cocoadirect 'cos it's just cocoa and sugar.
