Mincemeat in the oven.
Christmas must be the best excuse ever to make lots of exciting things.
It's also the worst thing to make you need to go into Croydon on a Saturday a week beforehand when it's ultra-horrible and busy. All done now though, glad I don't have to go in next week...

Date: 2006-12-19 12:25 pm (UTC)Oh yes! I love Christmas baking :-) You're far more advanced with your preparations than I am though. My cake is made, but not iced yet, in fact I suspect it won't get done till this weekend. My mincemeat is also waiting to go into the oven, due to lack of time and one important ingredient...
I haven't managed to find whole pieces of citrus peel to chop up myself this year (it has a far better flavour than the pre-chopped kind). I've searched all the usual shops and also tried places like Selfridges, but nowhere has it. Next year I'm going to candy my own.
