Bush And The Stem Cell Bill
Jul. 20th, 2006 09:21 amBush uses veto on stem cell bill
Not something I say very often, but I actually pretty much agree with Bush on this one.
An embryo is a life, no matter how much or how many people's suffering the research would help, it's not right to deny that embryo a chance to live.

Date: 2006-07-20 12:08 pm (UTC)Taking cells from an already-not-going-to-make-it baby doesn't really seem that different to the principle behind donar cards. I carry one, once I'm dead I won't need my organs anymore so someone else may as well make use of them and I suppose the same is true for stem cells in embryos.
The question then arises however as to why they are "already-not-going-to-make-it". Stem cell research shouldn't become be a moral excuse for things like IVF.
