So, in Border Morris we do sticking in the dances (ie hitting sticks together), but when we stop what have we done?

What would be the past tense of stick? stuck? sticked?

sticked. it is the regular way of forming the past tense. stuck is for the past tense of stick in the other sense, but it has a different etymology to a stick, so there is no justification for an irregular past tense.

on the other hand stuck is more fun...

German comes in handy, just prefix with ge.
Gestucken sounds convincing.
