As you may know, I'm becoming librarian at work. Obviously we are going to have journals in the Library, which are currently being stored in Magazine files.

We're going to keep them for about a year then throw them out/send them to be bound. Has anyone seen any good ways of storing them for students to access in the meantime?

I'd like to find a good inexpensive way that I can suggest at work.

At the Vet School, unbound journals are kept on display shelves. In cross section, they are sort of /_ -shaped, with the lastest edition on the /-shaped bit (so you can see it!), and that hinges up to reveal the flat shelf (_-shaped in the above), upon which back issues not yet bound sit.

I could put you in touch with our department librarian, if you like...
