Went to Dana Centre last night (will post about that later...) and now have idea for new website:

http://www.bathroom-bookshelf.co.uk/

Anyone know a good way of validating URLs in perl?

also, how about a text box for a brief description of the url?
("back of the book" ;-)

I'm enjoying this one... I'll probably be checking quite regularly how it all shifts along. I can appreciate flurble's suggestion but I'm not sure that you need a Descriptions box, that's kind of the random beauty of it.

Tempting, but I was also going to put in things like page titles to display instead of the URL and name of the person submitting it, in the end I thought I'd keep it simple.

I think it's more like seeing the titles on the spines of the books and then by following the links you're picking them up and looking at the front cover or something like that...

Grab it with LWP::UserAgent or LWPx::ParanoidAgent and see what happens.
