...or more accurately I've made an appointment to give them a pint tomorrow. Eeek! *cowers in corner*

I'm no good at giving blood. The only bit I seem any good at is avoiding doing it, which I seem to have managed for about 2 years now inspite of the fact that they ring me religiously each month to ask me to make an appointment. *hangs head in shame*

I mean, who's bright idea was it to make me both O negative and ridiculously squeamish? I'd laugh at the irony if it didn't make me feel so ill. I don't seem to be able to even walk past one of those lorries without my stomach attempting to impersonate a world champion gymnast anymore. I thought this was supposed to get easier?

Yes, I'm being a coward, but it's an evil blood sucking lorry of doom. *nods head to make the argument more convincing*

Perhaps, if I'm lucky, I'll go down with some rare tropical disease overnight?

Eeek!

*runs and hides quivering in the corner*

I know I'll be fine, but that doesn't stop me being irrational about it...

At least I get to get my own back by going really pale and worrying all the nurses.

Good luck! And try not to go too pale, they withheld my tea afterwards once when I tried that *scowls*

I'm guessing this is a bad time to tell you I'm reading "Dracula" for my Gothic module???

At least it sounds like you haven't passed out after giving which was what I did last time (albeit due to the heat rather than squeamishness. Still.)
Hope it all goes well.

Strangely enough, I could cope with dracula. Just skimmed over certain bits and let my imagination metaphorically look away...

May have taken your advice a little too excessively.

Wouldn't have been surprised if my blood had come out clear as a result (it may well have done - I didn't look)

I don't think I've ever passed out over anything (except anestic, but it would be a surprise not to)

Needles, blood, whathave you, no problem at all and I'm highly resistant to most anaesthetics and sedatives (really hope I never need surgery again!) but one mildly warm day and I'm flat on my nose.
