I was shocked this morning to find out that we were actually going to deny the foreign workers who work for the Italian company who have been subcontracted to take out at the Lindsey Oil Refinery some of the work that has been contractually offered to them.

This is all because we British want a share of jobs that were never there in the first place. A company has been asked to do some work, that company already has staff, it doesn't need anymore, hence no vacancies.

So, this morning I woke to find out that some of these jobs were to be offered to British workers. Is it just me that's thinking about the Italian and Portuguese workers who were supposed to be doing this work? Surely if the work is not going to them then their jobs (which apparently they already have) are going to be put in more jeopardy.

Also, from what I gather from the coverage of this, if they do make the work available as temporary jobs, then surely other EU citizens have to have fair access to these jobs too under the common market anyway?

Isn't wrong to assign jobs based on racial background?

Turns out the workers aren't even happy with that anyway.
