1984 and Iraq
Mar. 28th, 2006 08:21 amWas sitting discussing 1984 with Rosie and a couple of her friends on Saturday when we got onto the topic of the ministry of Peace and the fact that every so often the state that they were at war with would change.
Somehow we managed to draw a comparison with the cold war and the war on terror.
This has got me wondering. Is there some sort of human need to have enemies? One war over we start another.
A horrible thought, but is war actually the natural state for human society? Natural competitive instincts drawing us into it?
eeek! I don't like that thought!
However, there must be some reason why we're obsessed with killing each other.
