So, Thameslink 2000+abit has finally struck and the Wheatsheaf closed last night.

Went along for a final drink there last night with Jenny and Granny.

Decamped to the Market Porter when it became too full of people coming along for a final drink.

Shame it was a nice pub, especially for one that would always allow Thrales to dance.

That's a shame (although as one who lives on the Thameslink line, I can't say that I'm sorry that Thameslink 2054 is finally getting underway!)

The work on Thameslink will be useful and there should be possibility for a pub to open up in the Wheatsheaf's place once the work is finished (albeit under a viaduct).

The Wheatsheaf re-opens when the thameslink work is finished - It loses the top floor but gains an open area next door, the site where the old derelict building has just been demolished
